The Gwinnett Open Land Trust invites your membership and support to protect greenspaces and the quality of our streams and rivers, as well as features of historical value, including Native American sites.

The need is critical -- Development in Gwinnett County continues to explode in response to a vibrant economy and the demand for the positive lifestyle offered here.  Greenspace is quickly being transformed into offices, malls, residential subdivisions and parking lots everywhere.

Our success threatens to overwhelm our environment.  Gwinnett Open Land Trust is working to conserve land that's critical to protecting water quality and scenic features that are so important to our quality of life.

Identifying Sites -- We identify or evaluate land that has environmental or historical significance, including Native American, paleo-Indian, and prehistoric features, then work with landowners, developers, and local governments to accept donated conservation easements, fee simple ownership, or other agreements that will protect such tracts.

Estate and Tax Benefits -- We assist private landowners with conservation planning for family estates, holding conservation easements or evaluating other conservation, tax-saving tools.

Education -- We seek to educate our community about the values of respect for our land and history, through all methods of outreach.  Board members are available as part of a speakers bureau.
